Ayumi and Sen Brownback

This summer we had the privilege of hosting a student from Japan... Her name was Ayumi. What a sweet girl, and smart! I was a bit concerned at first. She is an only child, coming from a culture where they don't yell. I have 8 children, and the kids fight and yell and I can yell at time too! She fit in very well, they played hours of Uno, and a card game called Spoons. Ayumi taught the children how to write their names in Japanese and origami. Ayumi cooked us three meals, which we all enjoyed. What a wonderful experience! We miss you Ayumi!

This is Ayumi with Sen. Brownback. We had the privilege of having Sen Brownback at our house before the Straw Poll. Ayumi wanted to experience everything American. Boy did she ever!

My own socks!

I made myself my very own socks. I used wool from High Prairie Land Fiber. Abi has some nice stuff. The wool is called Day's End, and has some wonderful specks, makes an interesting yarn.

Aren't they cute? Hopefully they'll keep my feet warm. The rest of the yarn will make a pair of socks for my 4 year old daughter. Only her's will be green socks with blue toes and heels.
